project description:
This is an interactive musical instrument which generates ‘mirage’ by surrounding the audience spatially with music and images. It detects the emotions of the audience with sensors and reflects them into music and images. It has a projector that composes 360 degrees visual space. A player chooses sound loops on the touch panel and images are generated adaptively. The acrylic panels of the body are faintly brightened with full color LEDs and they are also physical input by touching. This instrument can make a dance floor anrywhere temporarily.
The software is based on the game engine we have developed. It runs fast and can manage music, images, camera and sensors in real-time. The contents are written by a scripting language. It is also powerful and flexible enough to apply complex digital signage.

This project was supported by IPA mitoh program 2011

abstract
We propose an input interface using Foot-Step which is gestures of foot for information appliances while jogging. When we use information appliances while jogging, an in- put by Foot-Step is briefer way than conventional physical interfaces because of the hands-free capability. We developed a prototype of a Foot-Step system which enables a user to operate a menu selection system which is widely used for information appliances. The system equips 3-axes acceleration sensors on shoes and users operate a menu system by Foot-Step. As Foot-Step makes the operation of a menu sys- tem a part of jogging, we expect selecting menu motivates users to keep running and uses enjoy jogging more.

concept
This is a camera which can record wonderful moments with human intuitive operation.

technical description
This working prototype has built-in camera in the part of right shoulder and take a picture after recognizing the gesture which your right hand describes an anti-clockwise circle. Image differencing of OpenCV is used for recognition of your right hand on openFrameworks. Though we use mac for it now, it is feasible that the part of left shoulder contains hand recognition and saving image functions by small dedicated chips for image recognition. The shoulder camera style is able to snap a shot of everyday life.
